Death Ruled Homicide
LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson's death has been ruled a homicide caused by a mix of drugs meant to treat insomnia, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press, while his personal doctor told investigators he was actually trying to wean the King of Pop off the powerful anesthetic that did him in.
Forensic tests found the anesthetic propofol combined with at least two sedatives to kill Jackson, according to the official, who spoke Monday on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released. Based on those tests, the Los Angeles County Coroner has ruled the death a homicide, the official said.
Heart Attack
Initial reports claim the star had a heart attack at his home in California. Attempts to revive him at the home and hospital were unsuccessful. The world now mourns the loss of one of the most electrifying performers of our time.
Jackson was set to begin a string of 50 concerts in London as part of a planned comeback after years off the stage. Promoters of the concert series are now left with a huge mess to untangle including least of which, full refunds for the almost sold out series.
Entertainer Michael Jackson died after being taken to a hospital on June 25th having suffered cardiac arrest, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.
Paramedics took Jackson, 50, from his west Los Angeles home to UCLA Medical Center, where a team of physicians attempted to resuscitate him for more than an hour, said brother Jermaine Jackson. He said the famed singer was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. PT.
